The next morning, Kushi started her day by checking her email and was not so pleased when she didn’t find the mail she was hoping to see in her inbox. She completed her morning routine checking her inbox every now and then  and when her disappointment reached its peaks, she decided  not to touch her email account for the rest of the day. Meanwhile in the dining room, “Mamma, there is just a month left for the wedding and we haven’t even started our shopping”, said Anjali, drawing the curtain to execute her plan. ” Ya Anjali…even I’m worried about that. Our hands were tied up as the past few days weren’t so auspicious to start anything that is related to your wedding. Jewelry, clothes, gifts, oh my God! There is a lot to do and I’m not understanding when and where to start”, said Aarthi in a worried tone. “I have checked the calendar Aarthi. Gone are the inauspicious days. Chapter 61-Frozen Hearts..will they melt by Deepti

CHAPTER 61 She didn’t know why she was so disappointed but what she just heard didn’t go well with her.Losing her appetite as she started playing with the food in her plate, wondering when he would be back, she was glad to hear the same query slip out of Devyani’s mouth. “Maa, he just left and you are already worried about his return trip?”, remarked Aakash and on a later note, ” He should be back before the weekend”, he added. Though she got the info which she needed, that didn’t make her feel any better and becoming unusually quiet she somehow managed to finish her dinner. But once she was back in her room post dinner, she couldn’t help but think about the root cause of her restlessness. It’s not the first time that he was missing at the family dinner table nor was it his first time travelling abroad. Then why the sudden interest, concern or whatever it is called… as if she was missing him. “ Is she?”.  She slapped on her head at that very thought and lay flat on the be...

Seeing the girl who was sobbing, lying flat on her bed, Anjali’s face saddened. She stood at the doorstep, not understanding how to console Kushi but when she could no longer bear the sight, she walked into the room calling out, ” Kushi!”. She took a seat next to the crying figure and placed her hand on the back of Kushi’s head. “Please… stop crying”, she said moving her hand gently on Kushi’s head. As she was  not of so fond of her tears being witnessed by others, Kushi wiped her cheeks and sniffing her nose, she sat on  the bed facing Anjali, drawing her knees closer to her face. “Everything is going to be fine”, said Anjali placing her hand on Kushi’s knees. And when she got no response from Kushi, she continued saying, ” I’m sure that these people will change their decision. Just give them some time. They will come around.” “I don’t think so, Di. They will never send me. Didn’t you see how firm Maa was about her dec...

Chapter 59 Shoving her belonging into his pocket he looked around to make sure that he wasn’t being watched and then went to join to rest who were standing close to the mandap. As her eyes fell on him she wondered what took him so long and when their gaze met he couldn’t help but think how she would react when she comes to know what’s lying in his pocket. While he stepped aside to check on the dinner arrangements, on Sakshi’s instruction, Kushi and her friends picked up the plates which were filled with rose petals and went around offering them to  the guests so that they can shower those on the couple who would be taking their marital vows in the next few minutes. As her plate became three fourths empty, saving a significant amount for herself, Kushi came back to the place where she was standing previously and grabbing a handful of petals she waited for the couple to take their vows. On his return he noticed the petals in others’ hands and came to the girl who was standing close t...

CHAPTER 57 “Arnav, come join us”, said Rishi grabbing Arnav’s arm as soon as he approached him. ” Me and dance! No dude. It’s not my cup of tea. You guys carry on”, replied Arnav as he tried to release his arm from Rishi’s grip. And though Rishi tried his best to  persuade him, he finally had to return back to the stage empty handed. Seeing the man who would not give in so easily, Kushi just shook her head and for a second, thought of approaching him. But when she heard Preeti say, “Looks like you want to dance with him. Why don’t you call him. We too would get a chance to shake our feet with Mr.Perfect”, she gave up that idea and continued dancing with her friends. The dancing event continued for a while after which dinner was served. And as everyone started getting off the stage one after the other to move towards the area where the dinner was being served, Kushi noticed that Devyani was in a rush to get to the house. She ran behind the elder lady and said, “Dhadhi, If it’s ...

Chapter 48 JavaScript must be enabled to use this feature. “Arnav! Where are you lost???”, said Anjali bringing him back from his world. As his sister’s words broke his trance he looked at her and the rest. Clearing his throat and composing himself he took three long strides to join them. “Nowhere Di. Now tell me. You said Mamma lost her purse and Maa’s card is expired. But what happened to your’s?”, he inquired, diverting his sister’s interest from him to the current issue. Kushi froze as she heard this from the trial room and once she was out of the initial shock she didn’t wait to step out of the trial room. ” Mamma lost her purse? When? Where? How?”, she asked joining the rest, with her right hand still on the dupatta, holding it in place. While Devyani started to enlighten Kushi about the recent developments, Anjali responded to her brother’s query. “I went to Kushi’s workplace to check her work and had no plans to join this shopping. And since I had no shopping plans, I didn’t re...
